RUSH STREET

RUSH STREET RESTAURANT, BAR & LOUNGE COMBINES THE OLD SCHOOL VIBE OF CHICAGO WITH THE EXPLOSIVE NEW ENERGY OF CULVER CITY

Culver City, CA (September, 2008) – Once a sleepy Los Angeles suburb, Culver City is in the midst of a cultural and culinary revival. In the past few years a revitalized historic downtown core has become home to numerous world-class restaurants and art galleries frequented by upwardly mobile neighborhood hipsters, entertainment execs from nearby Sony Studios and cultural cognoscenti from all of Southern California. And now, with the opening of Rush Street in the heart of Culver City, the area is poised to ascend to a new level of social relevance as it welcomes the restaurant, bar and lounge that will be home to Culver City’s first true nightlife scene. Inspired by the eponymous Chicago strip known worldwide for its hot-spot bars and restaurants, Rush Street brings a new vibrancy to the area with bar-centric eats for brunch, lunch and dinner. Killer cocktails, micro-brew beer and boutique wines are served in a dynamic 5,800 square foot space featuring the city’s longest bar (35-feet of polished concrete), and only rooftop lounge. With exposed brick, dark woods, high-backed King Booths and low-lit ambiance, Rush Street has all the elegance of a hot Hollywood nightclub with none of the Hollywood headache. In Culver City, attitudes are checked at the door.

FROM CHI-TOWN TO TINSEL TOWN

The driving force behind the concept of Rush Street is native Chicagoan Brian McKeaney whose family owns thirteen establishments on and around the famous Rush Street strip.  In fact, his family is so well-respected in the Windy City that the City of Chicago permanently renamed the block between Rush and Division Streets “McKeaney Way” since they operate six restaurant/bars on that block alone.  Having worked every position in his family’s restaurants during his teens and twenties, from barback to general manager, McKeaney opted to follow his passion for film production and move to Los Angeles to work in the entertainment industry.
